Tori Spelling's Rocking Bikini Body

Are only skinny women allowed to rock a bikini? If you ask Tori Spelling, she’d be quick to say no!

“Spoiler Alert: Yep! I’m wearing my BUMP PROUD again in a bikini so if you don’t want to look then leave my site now!” said Tori Spelling on her website according to ABC News.

Not surprisingly, a lot of Spelling’s fans had an issue with her showing off her baby bump in a bikini.

“Too much showing. Not suitable for a pregnant mom with a seven-month-old.”

“Ewww. She’s pregnant! Cover that bump up! No one wants to see that!!”

I’m really fumoxed as why people have a problem with a woman exposing her pregnant belly to the world. There’s no reason why a pregnant belly needs to be hidden.

From experience I know that when I’m pregnant I feel more comfortable in a bikini rather than having some horrible spandex stretched across my expanding middle. I also feel freer of bikini body issues when pregnant because I don’t judge myself so harshly as when I’m not pregnant but just soft around the middle.

Lay off Tori (and all the other pregnant ladies and less than perfect-bodied amongst us) and let her rock her beautiful belly as she pleases.

Jessica Simpson to Launch Maternity Line...What Will YOU Do?

New celebrity moms are busy falling in love with their newborns and planning their next dynasty!

Jessica Simpson just gave birth to her daughter Maxwell Drew and will already be delving into the world of maternity fashion this fall according to Us magazine.

"I'm so excited to partner with Destination Maternity to design a collection of fashionable styles that make you look and feel great!" Simpson said in a statement released Monday. "You want to wear clothes that are flattering to your baby bump; you want to show your bump off."

Set to launch this fall, Jessica Simpson Maternity will be sold across the nation at Motherhood Maternity, Destination Maternity and Macy's. The pieces, which will include vintage-print tops, form-fitting jersey knit dresses and chunky realized sweaters, will start at $36.

It’s really amazing the opportunities a celebrity mom can have open to her with each new interest in her life. Having a baby? Ah! The need for beautiful maternity wear. Gained weight? Ah! The chance to endorse a weight loss program.

How awesome would it be if everyday women could get an idea for creating something new and cool and just be able to start it up just like that?

Perhaps we can. Yes, it won’t be so easy for us to reach the masses, but we can always start on a small scale.

Jessica Simpson Knows What She Likes and Isn't Afraid To Say So

I think I can learn a thing or two from Celebrity Momster Jessica Simpson.

Simpson is just totally unafraid of what people think of her; she says what she feels and just loves her awesome life.

Us Magazine’s headline says it all: Jessica Simpson,Still Pregnant: I Want to Give Birth in a "Leopard Caftan."

Simpson has no qualms about sharing her fashion dream in a tweet: "I just woke up from a dream that I wore a leopard caftan in the hospital. Fabulous!! Now I need to find one!"

Man. I strive to be honest with the world. Maybe I’m just sharing the wrong things. Maybe people don’t really care about deep life struggles and all that heavy duty stuff.

Perhaps I should embrace my inner feminine-female and get into fashion.

Simpson looks forward to the days after baby when she can slip back into more appropriate footwear for her lifestyle: "I can't wait for the day I can walk in heels again!" she tweeted. "My feet feel homesick!"

Platform sandals might look out of place dropping off my kids and picking them up at school.

I think I need to find a place to go where heels would be appropriate and rock them out.

Christina Applegate Still Rocks Maternity Jeans

Wahoo! I love this idea of sharing what maternity clothes moms still wear long after their pregnancies have ended.

Ivillage reports on Christina Applegate, an awesome Celebrity Momster, who admits that a year after baby, "I still wear maternity jeans," she told US Weekly. "They're so comfortable." 

I have an awesome cream-colored silky maternity sweater I got from Target that I still wear. I actually remember buying it and thinking, this doesn’t look like a maternity sweater! I’m totally going to be able to wear this after baby!

And it’s so true that some of my maternity shorts with the little stretchy waistband are totally cute and may end up slung around my hips this summer. Of course, this ability to wear maternity fashions postpartum may have a little bit to do with how cute and stylish maternity clothes have become.

When I think about the maternity wear my mother had to endure, I don’t think I’d be caught wearing a tent dress even when I was pregnant…

Is This Tween's Dress Ever Appropriate?

Ack! Hollywood Life has a photo of Jude Law’s 12-year-old daughter wearing what appears to be a sweet and innocent dress, but those little hearts have some not-so-sweet messages in them!

“At first glance, Jude Law‘s daughter Iris wore what seemed like a sweet, innocent (and totally age-appropriate) dress to Vivienne Westwood‘s London Fashion Week show. But take a closer look — those candy hearts are printed with vulgar phrases like “Blow Me” and “Eat Sh*t”! Woah.”

Sadie Frost apologized on Twitter later. “I seem to have upset people & am shocked myself about the dress Iris wore to Vivienne Westwoods show. Iris had been bought it as a present. I assumed it was just the sayings the sweets have on them. I’m sorry for any upset it may have caused..Iris is a sweet, innocent girl.”

I can totally understand the mother not noticing the words in the hearts, but I wonder if the daughter noticed. It’s not like they’re little tiny hearts; those suckers are pretty big!

Hmm…I wonder if they make that dress in adult sizes!

Wait a minute, now that gets me thinking, if this is a dress designed for young girls, is that really appropriate?!

Elisabeth Rohm Helps Me Think About Who I Want To Be

Elisabeth Röhm, actress on Law and Order, blogs about being a mom to 3½-year-old Easton August with Ron Anthony for People.

Her New Year’s resolution? To dump the “mom clothes.”

“So here it is. I shudder to say it out loud, PEOPLE.com, but I knew it was true when the last and final person (my trying-to-be-sensitive-but-not-quite-achieving-it other half) said it. Ron told me that I wear too many “mom clothes.””

I’m up in mental fuzz trying to figure out where I stand on the issue.

I mean, I know I wear mom clothes: comfy jeans, nursing shirts, and cuddly cardigans—the question is—is there anything wrong with that?

Rohm explains that she “started to go for practicality and comfort rather than style and expression. It happens. We all talk about it. We even laugh about it, as if we are proud to wear our badge of mom honor by displaying those too long sweaters that resemble tents, rather the fitted ones of the past. But I think I may have gone too far, perhaps over the edge into the tacky shoes department.”

It feels like to me that with my lifestyle there’s no point in going through the trouble of dressing up. I mean, I’m at home—chasing three little kids, writing, and teaching online. The only people who see me love me no matter what I wear.

I guess the big question is—is it important to me? Would I feel better about myself if I dolled up a little once in a while?

Rohm asks: ““Where have I stashed my former self?” I was thinking yesterday as I ate my bagel with too much cream cheese (yes, part of my mom getup is some extra poundage — I’m going to shed that too).”

Yes, that’s the part I need to figure out. Am I hiding away behind my slouchy clothes as a way to hide from my “former self”? And if so, why?

I don’t want to hide my self—whoever she might be.

Who am I?

A mom? A former stripper? Or Sheila?

Hmm…or all of these selves.

Maybe I need to give some of those other selves a little time.

Or not...

Rockin' the Tomboy Look Jolie-Pitt Style!

It’s so refreshing to see that no one questions Shiloh Jolie-Pitt's tomboy style. She just had her hair chopped in a boy-style to go along with her tomboy clothes.

 “Jolie, 36, told Vanity Fair that she sometimes dresses Shiloh "like a little dude. Shiloh, we feel, has Montenegro style. It's how people dress there. She likes tracksuits, she likes [regular] suits. She likes to dress like a boy."”

I’m curious to see what happens as Shiloh ages; do you think she’ll hold on to her tomboy style or be more attracted to the glamour she sees her mom prettied up in?

I’m not sure if it’s pregnancy brain though.

I’m thinking this unfortunate outfit is either: A) Ms. Gyllenhall is much more uber-advanced than all of us other women and really does not care if her clothes match or not, or B) another example of a strategic photo op where she feels so left out of this week’s tabloids that she purposefully mismatched her entire outfit to spark a paparazzi frenzy.

While vacationing in Aspen, Colorado, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon BOTH seriously wore matching outfits with their 8-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.

Umm…it’s bad enough when we see a mother at the mall sporting the same outfit as her little girl, but…both parents…both babies…all in white…

Celebrity Baby Scoop has some interesting photos of pregnant Hilary Duff in 12-inch Christian Louboutin heels.

Apparently pregnancy isn’t slowing Duff down when she’s got some serious shopping to do.

I don’t think I could even wear those heels for an hour, let alone go shopping in them—while pregnant!

I’m just wondering if those are the smartest wardrobe choice when the possibility of tripping and falling has got to be greater than normal.

Hmm…perhaps someone was feeling left out of the paparazzi shots this week and needed a little something extra to create a photo op?

Tori Spelling took her kids for a great photo op—I mean, shopping spree in LA.

As a way to show the world that she’s not above shopping where the little people shop, Tori toted her kids along to demonstrate how down-to-earth she can be. Not only that, but this photo op—there I go again, sorry!—this shopping trip also demonstrated how thoughtful her kids are because they loved picking out stuff for their little baby sister!

Way to raise your kids, Mom! Thrifty and caring!

Then the family strolled down the block to Fancy Schmancy Expensive Clothes Store to have photos taken of them buying $2,000 shirts and—oh wait, I mean, no—No cameras! No cameras!

Spend It Like Beckham!

Celebrity Baby Scoop sheds light on how expensive it is to dress a celebrity baby.

Harper looked cute as a button when we saw her this past weekend, sporting a Little Marc Jacobs Isis Even Stripe Dress ($119) and a pair of Chloe tights ($50) as she and Victoria arrived at LAX airport.

It’s quite hard to say. In my present state of mind, I think, oh my goodness, no! Why would I spend $50 on a pair of baby tights? One hundred dollars for a dress my child might wear once and then barf on?

But, who am I to judge? Perhaps I, too, would want to enwrap my baby in expensive, haute couture.

And I’m sure there are those who would scoff at my buying a $5 cup of Starbucks every day. It’s all relative.

But is there a point where we say, that’s just too expensive for a child’s clothing? Too much for a cup of coffee? What’s the tipping point?

Before I jump the gun and simply say, Suck It, Beckhams, I pause to consider if I might spend that much money on dressing my baby if I were in the same tax bracket as the Beckhams.

It was the reader comments on Celeb Buzz that made it a no-brainer for me.

Just because Jennifer Lopez is 42 and a mother she shouldn’t wear something like this?

If she can work it and feels confident, then bravo!

According to our accepted cultural stereotypes it seems mothers should don mu-mus and become celibate because, well, you know, we’re moms now.

Hang up the heels, pack away the sexy dresses, and accept our roles as maternal figures.

I better go change and bake some cookies…

Christina Aguilera earns my kudos for baring what she’s got in what she wants to wear.

She’s bursting the skinny-celebrity mom template that’s been created—you know, the one that says immediately following birth you must starve yourself back into a size double-zero.

She’s being who she is and proud of it. And for those questioning whether she’s pregnant—who cares? She’s rocking this dress and loving her body. God! Rather than “slamming” her, we should be applauding her.

His mom, Rachel Zoe, had this to say, according to Celebrity Baby Scoop: "It is too much fun. It is like dressing a live doll," Zoe tells InStyle at the MOCA Annual Gala in Los Angeles. "He has no opinion." 

So, babies have no opinion, thus you may dress them however you wish? Break out the beanies and the loafers! But, wait…look at that face…perhaps, just perhaps, there is an opinion brewing. Watch out Rachel!
