Victoria Beckham Reminds Us to Do a Head Count

Vanity Fair spoke with Victoria Beckham and got a surprising answer when asking her some silly questions about her daily life.

In response to the query if she had ever run out of gas, she shared a much more entertaining story about a very busy morning when she took her son Brooklyn to school, except, well, without her son.

“So I jump in my Range Rover, put the car seat in, put my iPod on—obviously very important—and I drive to school. And then I realize, I’d left Brooklyn in the kitchen. I was driving along, talking away, and all the sudden, I looked at the front seat, and I was like, “Shit! Shit! I’ve forgot something!”

I can’t tell you how many times I have gotten everyone locked and loaded in the minivan and I’ll be driving down the road wondering why it’s so quiet and I’ll swing my head around to make sure I have all three children.

So far I’ve been quite lucky; the silence has been attributed to sleepy kids or interesting flowers outside the windows. But there is that primal fear of forgetting a child somewhere along the line and it creeps up and surprises me all the time.

It’s like poor Robert Barone on the old TV show, Raymond. Whenever Robert would feel like the unloved, unimportant brother he would remind everyone of the time his parents left him at a gas station on vacation. And to top things off, it was quite a few miles before they noticed their error.

At least Beckham was right down the street…

Victoria Beckham Struggles with Motherhood/Career Balance, Too

Celeb Baby Laundry reports on people’s reactions to Victoria Beckham’s appearance at the debut of her collection at Harvey Nichols during London Fashion week. Apparently, some onlookers were disappointed that Beckham did not look as polished as usual.
Maybe it’s just me, but I think she looks better than her usual perfectly polished photos. She still looks well put-together, just with a touch of normalcy.
Beckham told the Daily Mirror: “Look, if people want to say I’m miserable then so be it. I’m really not. I have a lot on my plate. I’m not going to lie about it, I’m tired. I’m really tired but I’m also very happy with my life.”
“I’m not getting much sleep at all. Harper’s not sleeping that great, and I’ve been taking Skype business calls throughout the night, too, because of the collections. I’m up with the baby as all mums are, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. There’s not a team of people doing it for me.”
“I’m basically just like any woman who’s working and has lots of children—it’s tough.”
I don’t know about you, but I enjoy hearing about a Celebrity Momster sharing how her life is not so different than other moms. Yes, her life may be filled with more glamour, but she’s still just a human being trying to balance the demands of motherhood and career.

Victoria Beckham is Thin Again! (Was She Ever Not Thin?!)

The UK’s Daily Mail helps perpetuate more Oh my God! She’s so thin after giving birth! How DOES she do it? craziness.
A Celebrity Momster always seems to be too thin or too fat after giving birth. We never hear magazines proclaiming, Wow! She looks just the way she should for her body type!

Victoria Beckham had baby Harper in July and has just posed for her first post maternal lingerie shoot.

Why would anyone be surprised by the way she looks? She’s naturally thin and she’s had six-months to lose the baby weight.

It’s not a miracle, folks. It’s called good diet and exercise.

News flash! Mothers do not naturally just become old, fat frumps after giving birth. They usually return to looking like they did before.

Spend It Like Beckham!

Celebrity Baby Scoop sheds light on how expensive it is to dress a celebrity baby.
Harper looked cute as a button when we saw her this past weekend, sporting a Little Marc Jacobs Isis Even Stripe Dress ($119) and a pair of Chloe tights ($50) as she and Victoria arrived at LAX airport.
It’s quite hard to say. In my present state of mind, I think, oh my goodness, no! Why would I spend $50 on a pair of baby tights? One hundred dollars for a dress my child might wear once and then barf on?
But, who am I to judge? Perhaps I, too, would want to enwrap my baby in expensive, haute couture.
And I’m sure there are those who would scoff at my buying a $5 cup of Starbucks every day. It’s all relative.
But is there a point where we say, that’s just too expensive for a child’s clothing? Too much for a cup of coffee? What’s the tipping point?
Before I jump the gun and simply say, Suck It, Beckhams, I pause to consider if I might spend that much money on dressing my baby if I were in the same tax bracket as the Beckhams.
