Jessica Simpson to Launch Maternity Line...What Will YOU Do?

New celebrity moms are busy falling in love with their newborns and planning their next dynasty!

Jessica Simpson just gave birth to her daughter Maxwell Drew and will already be delving into the world of maternity fashion this fall according to Us magazine.

"I'm so excited to partner with Destination Maternity to design a collection of fashionable styles that make you look and feel great!" Simpson said in a statement released Monday. "You want to wear clothes that are flattering to your baby bump; you want to show your bump off."

Set to launch this fall, Jessica Simpson Maternity will be sold across the nation at Motherhood Maternity, Destination Maternity and Macy's. The pieces, which will include vintage-print tops, form-fitting jersey knit dresses and chunky realized sweaters, will start at $36.

It’s really amazing the opportunities a celebrity mom can have open to her with each new interest in her life. Having a baby? Ah! The need for beautiful maternity wear. Gained weight? Ah! The chance to endorse a weight loss program.

How awesome would it be if everyday women could get an idea for creating something new and cool and just be able to start it up just like that?

Perhaps we can. Yes, it won’t be so easy for us to reach the masses, but we can always start on a small scale.

Anything you’ve been dying to do and introduce to the world? How can you make it happen now, Mom?! What would you do if you knew you could not fail?

Celebrity Mom Tweets Make Me Cry--Specifics, Please!

I know, I know, I’m being silly, but…I wish just once that a new celebrity mom would tweet a message about how tired she is or how her ankles are swollen or how something went wrong.

But don’t expect a message like that from Jessica Simpson!

According to Us magazine, Simpson tweeted a mommy gush to her 5 million Twitter followers about her daughter, Maxwell Drew Johnson.

"I am so in love with baby Maxwell. I want to cry every time I look at her. Motherhood is by far the best thing I've ever experienced."

And I suppose that means we won’t be hearing any “sources” saying Simpson isn’t doing such a good job either if this is any indication: "Everyone is marveling at what a natural Jessica is. She was born to be a mom!"

Is it just me or do these messages break every rule of good writing? Could we have some specifics, please?

Why is motherhood so grand, Simpson?

Why is Simpson such a natural mom, Mr. or Ms. Source?

What does any of this really mean?

And yes, I realize Tweets are inherently short, but still...

Jessica Simpson Weight Watch Begins

MSNBC is so over the happy baby news, it’s time for the baby weight story to take over: Jessica Simpson's baby wait is over, but Weight Watchers awaits.

So after the requisite how-many-trimesters-was-that-pregnancy jokes we move onto the question in everyone’s mind (well, not my mind, but according to the news it seems like this what they think everyone cares about)—how and when will she lose all that weight?!

“But now the battle begins. And no, we're not talking about the sleepless nights and the poopy diapers and the need for giant post-natal underwear. We are talking about that $3 million contract Papa Simpson negotiated with Weight Watchers in December. Jessica, it's time to hit the treadmill. There is no room for maternity leave OR mom jeans when you are employed by Simpson Family Inc.”

I had forgotten that Simpson already had a deal worked out with Weight Watchers to be their spokesperson. I feel a little disturbed now. If she knew she was going to be losing the weight in the public eye as a “thing,” wouldn’t that actually be incentive for her to gain as much weight as possible?

I dearly hope that there wasn’t some clause in her contract that said the more weight she gained and subsequently lost, the more money she would be paid, or something like that. Because, you know, if she made lots of headlines for how much weight she gained the big loss afterwards will get even more press—oh, Weight Watchers and Jessica Simpson, tell me it isn’t true…

Jessica Simpson Knows What She Likes and Isn't Afraid To Say So

I think I can learn a thing or two from Celebrity Momster Jessica Simpson.

Simpson is just totally unafraid of what people think of her; she says what she feels and just loves her awesome life.

Simpson has no qualms about sharing her fashion dream in a tweet: "I just woke up from a dream that I wore a leopard caftan in the hospital. Fabulous!! Now I need to find one!"

Man. I strive to be honest with the world. Maybe I’m just sharing the wrong things. Maybe people don’t really care about deep life struggles and all that heavy duty stuff.

Perhaps I should embrace my inner feminine-female and get into fashion.

Simpson looks forward to the days after baby when she can slip back into more appropriate footwear for her lifestyle: "I can't wait for the day I can walk in heels again!" she tweeted. "My feet feel homesick!"

Platform sandals might look out of place dropping off my kids and picking them up at school.

I think I need to find a place to go where heels would be appropriate and rock them out.

Jessica Simpson and Khloe Kardashian Are Not Fat!

What is with all the fat shaming going on in the world?
We’ve got media dissing Jessica Simpson left and right for being too heavy…while pregnant!
Yes, we all know the numbers of how many pounds the average woman should expect to gain while pregnant, but everyone is different.
Can we seriously not even let pregnant women gain weight?
And then there’s Celebrity Momster Kris Jenner, who calls herself a momager (manager/mother).
She’s been busy telling her daughter Khloe Kardashian that she’s fat.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Khloe comes right and says that her mom calls her "fat."
She’ll say, "Oh, you’re a little too fat right now." If she were just my manager, I’d have fired her right then. You can’t talk to me like that.
So why is it okay for her mom to talk to her like that? We've seen before on the show how much it bothers Khloe, so why doesn't Kris stop and see her beautiful daughter through the eyes of a mother instead of scrutinizing how she'll look on film? I imagine sometimes all of the Kardashian girls just want a mom who's a mom, but it doesn't seem like Jenner is able to put aside business to be one.
When are we ever going to be able to move beyond our society’s representation of women if we can’t break out of the rhetoric that keeps it alive?
Does anyone else have a problem with all this fat shaming?

Jessica Simpson Talks Pregnant Sex

I’m really curious about how other moms feel about Celebrity Momsters revealing intimate details about their love lives.
Celebrity Baby Scoop reports on Jessica Simpson’s interview on On-Air with Ryan Seacrest Tuesday morning. Simpson had no problem answering any and all questions.

“When asked if she was currently feeling intimate with fiancé Eric Johnson, she didn't hold back.
She exclaimed, "Yes, I am definitely feeling intimate -- I'm kind of unstoppable at the moment!"
"The big O is like the biggest O ever," she revealed.
She also added that Eric is not complaining about her desires.
"He's always ready," she laughed. "It's pretty interesting how your body works."”
I’m really curious: are there moms who wouldn’t have a problem with Jessica Simpson talking about these things before she was pregnant, but now that she’s pregnant, do you think she should not reveal so much?

Do we have different standards for moms? Are we not supposed to be so revealing?
Or, do you feel that Jessica Simpson and others should never be that revealing—regardless whether she’s a mom or not?

Jessica Simpson Does a Demi Moore

Us Weekly shares the latest news on a soon-to-be Celebrity Momster.
Simpson strikes quite a candid pose revealing more than would probably be allowed for a cover photo of a non-pregnant woman.
“Heavily pregnant Simpson, 31, poses nude on the April cover of ELLE magazine; Moore, 49, did the same for the cover of Vanity Fair in August 1991 when she was pregnant with daughter Scout LaRue.”
Why is it that people who would be in an uproar about that shot if she weren’t pregnant think it’s acceptable while she is?
Is it because she is not seen as a “sexy” object when pregnant? So the sight of her body as a “mother” is somehow “otherly” and allowed to be seen in this state?
If so, how silly that would seem since being pregnant means you’re obviously, you know, sexual.

Celebrity Momsters Supporting Each Other

It’s nice to see Celebrity Momsters supporting each other, even if it is in relation to great weight loss after baby.
Us Magazine reports that Jessica Simpson high-fived Jessica Alba for looking so svelte five months after giving birth to her new baby.
Mom-to-be Simpson tweeted: “New goal: look like Jessica Alba after baby!”
Jessica Alba replied: “OMG! You’re so sweet! Thanks, hon!”
So bravo to moms supporting moms.
I wonder what other ways Celebrity Momsters can support moms without it being just about looks?

Suck It, Weight Watchers!

“Together, they’ll be mainstreaming the dangerous idea that immediate post-birth weight loss is healthy.”
The deal is supposedly worth 3 million. Not bad bank to get inspired to shed the baby weight.

I wonder how emotionally healthy it is though for Simpson to be setting herself up in advance of giving birth to be in the spotlight for something she hasn’t even accomplished yet.

It’s like reality TV is going into the future, assuming she’ll be able to shed the pounds successfully.

No offense meant to Simpson, but oh how I wish for her to be unable to shed those unwanted pounds! Oh, for her to come out of this with some horrible, unsightly stretch and wrinkle marks!

True, true. If that were to happen, the makeup pros and airbrushers would simply work overtime.

Sigh. But a girl can dream.

Celebrity Babies For Sale!

The whole idea of pimping out one’s baby is just crazy.
Perez Hilton reports that Jessica Simpson may have been denying pregnancy rumors for so long because she was waiting to be offered bug bucks for the exclusive story, but when she didn’t get any offers, she simply made the announcement herself.

“We all know pregnancy announcements are not a big a deal as the actually birth. Celebs have been known to rack in the doe from baby pics: Christina Aguilera allegedly received $2 million for pictures of her son, while J Lo is said to have pocketed a massive $6 million for pics of her twinzies. Will Jess cash in too?”
What I just can’t seem to get is how we decide what it is okay to sell or not sell!

Why does someone selling sex for money land a prostitute in jail?
Why does selling a baby sound horrendously horrible to us?
But we can hawk photos of a baby, who doesn’t choose to have their photos spread across the consciousnesses of millions, with no repercussions?
Is it right to make money off a baby?

Suck It, Jessica Simpson!

Like, OMG, Jessica! You are just so daring and bold and so fashion-forward! You go ahead and give birth in your four-inch YSL heels.
Way to show women what’s really important in such an ultra-feminist way!
No worries if you gouge out a nurse’s eye (you can always buy her a new one!).
And OMG, I know…I am sooo sick of all the mooing moms-to-be out there!
You just go, honey. And, oh yeah, while you're there, suck it!
"I like wearing things more fitted," she explained. "You want to show off your bump! It's just so fun. You don't want to wear muumuus so you can moo around town."
